Another Lag in Posting

Just when I think I have posting down to a system things start spinning out of control. This happens every time.

There has been much to post on...
  • A trip to Art in the Sun a wonderful workshop for art educators in St George, Utah...
  • lots of lessons with my students in art classes...
  • a couple of fun attempts at learning to form pots on a wheel (courtesy of great ceramics teachers I met through the workshop)...
  • an in progress DIY studio remodel...
  • an opportunity to spend a couple of afternoons as a guest artist for our neighborhood elementary school...
  • collecting student art for an upcoming show...
  • etc...
But when life is busy with great opportunities it leaves little time for other things. Now I hope to catch up and share some experiences with you. Thanks for sticking with me.

These are a couple of old pastel projects found during our studio remodel. The lion was part of a toned paper/pastel (actually it's cheap manila school paper) demo for a kids art class years ago.

This man is an old high school toned paper/pastel project. The original reference came from a magazine in the high school art room. It's one I have used many times over the years.

I love using toned paper as the mid tone value with pastels. It is something we have been working on in my current kids class. The results will post soon.
