Learning to paint faces (and almost everything else) is easier if you leave color mixing out of it. For this watercolor lesson, the next step after
Coloring Book Portraits, we again painted using one color in different values.

This time the class sketched first from personal monochromatic photo references that had not been simplified or altered
(most chose to turn the paper and the reference upside down).
