Half Portraits

For adult watercolor class we took time to do Half Portraits, a drawing exercise I've done with kid's art classes in the past.

To do this...
  • Collect magazine pictures of faces photographed straight on.
  • Fold the photo to divide the face in half lengthwise.
  • Cut the picture in two along the fold line.
  • Glue one half to the side of a piece of white paper.
  • Using this as a reference draw the missing part of the face.

The pictures are samples of class work. Nice work and a good learning experience.

  8. One thing I love about EDM is I constantly learn from everyone. This is something I could do as practice to learn to draw faces better. Thank you for sharing this.
